RSGDSYD's mission statement:
"Connecting people who care with a cause that matters"

Every civilised society has its volunteers and every faith has its good Samaritans. For such people there could be no higher cause than assisting those with disabilities to live fuller and more rewarding lives.

Over the last 19 years, the Rallis School of Greek Dance has been proud to support charities such as “The Oncology Unit at Westmead Children’s Hospital”, “Giant Step” - Children with Autism, “The Estia Foundation of Australia” the provision of 24 hour respite and group support for young Australian adults with intellectual and physical disabilities and “Save our Sons” - a children’s Charity committed to raising desperately needed funding and awareness to find a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).

In 2015, RSGDSYD's efforts were in support of "Cure for Brain Cancer Foundation". The Cure Brain Cancer Foundation is the largest dedicated funder of brain cancer research in Australia. Their vision is to give every patient with brain cancer access to new treatments through world-class clinical trials and their mission is to increase five-year survival to 50% within 10 years.

RSGD is committed to giving back to those less fortunate and our fundraising efforts and success is driven by the wonderful support of the greater community.

Established in 1880, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead is a stand-alone public Hospital and registered charity with 3,000 staff working in 150 departments. Over 70,000 sick children and their families are cared for each year in a family-focused, healing environment.

Funded by the NSW Government, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead provides significant enhancements to services aided by the generosity of individual and corporate donors.

Giant Steps has a multifaceted approach to the provision of services to children with autism and their families, whilst spreading a culture of caring and professional excellence through the broader community.

While the Australian and New South Wales governments provide approximately 40 per cent of Giant Steps’ operating costs and 55 per cent of the cost of some capital works. The remaining funds must be raised through corporate and individual donations and fundraising.

ESTIA provides 24 hour respite and group-home supported accommodation services for young Australian adults with intellectual and physical disabilities.

The respite homes are located at Gladesville and Roselands, and the group home "Lixouri House" is at North Ryde. The services are available to people of all nationalities and denominations who reside in Sydney, pending an interview and assessment process. Each home has the capacity to cater for five clients and a sixth bed is available for crisis situations. Full-time cooks prepare meals for our clients, and support staff are on duty around the clock to provide assistance in all essential living skills. Estia's respite homes service 150 families per year.

Save Our Sons is a charity organisation raising funds and awareness to help find a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).

99% of children affected are boys and symptoms usually present themselves before the age of 5. With 1 in 3,500 boys affected, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is the most prevalent of muscular dystrophies. Although in most instances it is males that are generally affected, there are also instances of females affected by DMD.

The Cure Brain Cancer Foundation is the largest dedicated funder of brain cancer research in Australia. Their research strategy is designed to get new treatments to patients faster by ensuring every person diagnosed with brain cancer in Australia has access to a quality clinical trial.

Approximately 1600 people are diagnosed with brain cancer in Australia annually and around about 1200 die from the disease every year.  Brain cancer kills more Australian children than any other cancer.  Cure Brain Cancer Foundation is dedicated to accelerating the development of new treatments to increase 5-year to survival to 50% within ten years.
